Yellow House

The yellow centre is based in an area which has a lot of problems.  It’s a very impoverished area that has a lot of issues with sexual assault, gambling and addiction.  Many of the children are out of school and there is little opportunity for work and so the people in the community fall into an extreme poverty cycle and a community lacking trust and peace.

It’s important in this are to bring about a peaceful community and so many of the programmes focus on eating together and discussion.  Children’s programmes provide informal education and after school tuition, to enable the children to complete their schooling and have the chance of a better future.  We also feed the children every day and the adults, when they meet.

Clean water is delivered from the orange centre water programme and hygiene education works to improve the community health.  Women’s programmes focus on empowering women and improving their understanding and awareness of domestic violence and trafficking and how to prevent and report it.  These groups also teach simple skills which create small businesses and improve the income, such as soap making and basking making. Further education in savings and loans endeavours to make this sustainable.

Programmes

Creative Education – For those not yet, or for whatever reason not attending school. With our programme children are taught how to think creatively, receive skills in decision making and learn basic education.

Small group is a place where community is built. People get to discuss deep issues, eat together and support one another. Building on a family feeling, and creating a foundation for helping one another.

Empowers women to improve their own lives and the lives of their community. Here they learn about hygiene, receive anti-violence training, learn how to start a small business, start savings and loans to improve the family income.

We teach women how to sow clothing. They also enrol and complete a discipleship course.  After their training, they are free to join the women’s groups and many go on to start their own home-based business.

The feeding programme gives nutritious food to children and a meal for the adults when they come together as a large group or as a family. Everyone deserves a good meal.

Afterschool tuition is a program that we offer. Afterschool tuition helps children with their homework, to stop them from falling behind in their school education.

Sunday Meeting – All people are welcome to come to the Sunday meetings, to meet, eat and learn together. Our sunday meetings help build a sense of family around the community.

A safe playground allows children to play together without fear of being trafficked or injured. Tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst tekst
